2025. On April 13, 2025, the Hungary Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka celebrated its official opening with a ceremonial event.

During the press event held inside the Pavilion, speeches were delivered by Márton Nagy, Minister for National Economy of Hungary, and Gábor Zoboki, Kossuth and Ybl Prize-winning architect and the visionary behind the Pavilion’s architectural concept.

In his address, Minister Márton Nagy emphasized: “One of the aims of the Hungary Pavilion is to inspire a desire to discover our country. In the first quarter of 2025, the total number of visitors from East Asia increased by 40% compared to the same period in 2024, which is why we firmly believe that our presence at Expo 2025 will significantly contribute to further boosting visitor numbers from the region.”

Following the speeches, an official ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in front of the Pavilion building. The ribbon was jointly cut by Márton Nagy, Minister for National Economy of Hungary; László Könnyid, CEO of the Hungarian Tourism Agency; Ákos Kristó, Managing Director of EXPO 2025 Hungary Ltd.; and Gábor Zoboki, lead architect of the Pavilion’s architectural design concept.
After the ceremony, Minister Nagy personally welcomed the Pavilion’s very first visitors.

Ito Yoshitaka, Minister for the World Expo 2025, honored us by visiting the Hungary Pavilion first immediately after the official opening of Expo 2025 — a tremendous privilege for us.

Not even the persistent rain throughout the day could dampen the visitors’ enthusiasm. From the very first moments, long lines formed outside the Pavilion. Thousands were eager to experience what Hungary has to offer at the Expo: a unique, multi-sensory exhibition, a taste of Hungarian gastronomy, and a presentation that looks boldly to the future while proudly honoring and showcasing the treasures of Hungary’s past.
