The “1-ső” Pesti Rackák band fuses the love of Hungarian culture and the rock’n’roll revolution. This is how a Kalotaszeg dawn fits together with the poems of Sándor Petőfi and Attila Gérecz as well as the music of Jimi Hendrix. Hungarian folk music, rhythm & blues, funky, reggae, hip-hop and groove elements play an important role in their fusion music. Their extremely energetic production brings a smile to the face of an evening full of information and humour.

The essence of the Petőfi songs in their show was perhaps best summed up by poet János Lackfi: “The Petőfi industry has been delivering songs tamed into a wedding for decades. Thanks to György Ferenczi and his companions, the real, merciless, uncompromising, bluesy-rocky, hard-rock Sándor is now booming here. Hungarian teachers, Hungarians, teachers and non-teachers, attention!”
