Agi Szaloki, singer-songwriter, gained international recognition as a member of the Hungarian, traditional folk music group, “Ökrös” and the world music band, “Besh o Drom”, with which she had toured worldwide; also, she was a musical partner of famous Hungarian jazz pianist, Bela Lakatos “Szakcsi”. Agi founded her first band in 2004. Eight of her albums were released in Japan. In 2015, at the Cotton Club of Tokyo, she performed a unique repertoire, consisting of Hungarian swing hits and chansons, which was a huge success. At the Osaka World Expo, Agi will sing Hungarian folk songs, arranged for her band and with the hints of jazz. She will be joined by Daniel Szabo (pno), Istvan Toth (gtr) and Daniel Ferenc Szabo (dr).

Daniel Szabo, pianist-composer, regularly works with such jazz-legends as Peter Erskine or Chris Potter. His album called “Visionary” made it on the “Best Albums of the Year”-list of the prestigious US-magazine, JAZZIZ, alongside Brad Mehldau and Esperanza Spaulding. Szabo was the winner of the Jas Hennessy Solo Piano Competition in Montreux (2000); the Martial Solal International Jazz Piano Contest in Paris (2006); and the recipient of the ASCAP symphonic jazz composition award (2018). Istvan Toth, guitarist-bassist-composer, is one of the most sought-after musicians of Hungary as well as the founder of “New Fossils”, a progressive, chart-topping Hungarian band. He also was the recipient of the “Special Mention Award” at the International Jazz Guitar Contest in Montreux (2013). Popular drummer-composer, Daniel Ferenc Szabo, is an all-rounder of music and a member of numerous, highly acclamied groups. He was also a founder of New Fossils.
