More than one million visitors discovered Hungary at Expo 2025 Osaka through the Hungary Pavilion. Over the course of six months, the pavilion welcomed 46,000 restaurant guests, hosted nearly 70 cultural programs, more than 80 professional and business events, and received 2,250 protocol guests – making Hungary’s participation a true success on every level.

Living Traditions

At the heart of the pavilion, Hungarian folk songs resonated every fifteen minutes for 184 days. The 21 singers enchanted audiences with over 58,000 minutes of live music, while on the third floor, 11 traditional crafts – including felting, embroidery, straw weaving, and blue-dyeing – were showcased across 22 weeks, all with full-house workshops.

A Triumph of Hungarian Flavors

The Hungary Pavilion’s restaurant became one of the most popular culinary spots of the Expo. Throughout six months, 46,000 guests tasted the classics of the Hungarian cuisine: 18,600 portions of goulash soup, 17,000 servings of Hortobágyi pancakes, and more than 4,100 slices of Somló-style sponge roll were prepared.

Cultural and Professional Achievements

The Hungary Pavilion represented the country with nearly 70 concerts featuring over 600 artists and crew members, alongside 84 professional and business events. The pavilion also hosted 2,250 protocol guests – including heads of state, ambassadors, and Olympians – highlighting Hungary’s strong cultural and diplomatic presence.

The Legacy of Six Months

Built around the concept “Without our past, there is no future,” the pavilion proved that folk traditions, craftsmanship, and harmony with nature remain inspiring forces today. The World Expo may have concluded, but the legacy of the Hungary Pavilion continues to live on.
