The members of the Bürkös band are young folk musicians who were brought together more than twenty years ago by their love for folk music. They are recognized accompanists and participants in many of the country’s renowned folk dance ensembles, folk dance and folk music festivals. Their concerts feature the most beautiful melodies of the Carpathian Basin.
They consider their most important task to be the cultivation, preservation, and transmission of the traditions of their immediate homeland, the Upper Tisza region, and within that, the Nyírség, Szatmár, and Hajdúság regions.
They have visited countless towns and villages in Hungary, delighting audiences ranging from infants to senior citizens with concerts, folk music programs, unusual singing lessons, and dance houses.
They have played in almost every country in Europe, and since 2010 they have been regular participants in folklore festivals in the United States and South America, and now they have also made it to Japan.
