A globally relevant issue takes center stage in this thought-provoking documentary screening and roundtable discussion: the challenges of population decline and the role of culture in encouraging family life.
While concerns about overpopulation still linger in public discourse, birth rates are in fact declining across the globe. Family First, a documentary featured at the Hungarian Pavilion, explores the economic, social, and cultural consequences of this demographic shift through the lens of four countries: Ireland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. The film also presents Hungary’s unique responses and policy initiatives addressing the issue.
Following the screening, a panel of experts and decision-makers will engage in a compelling conversation, exploring how culture, art, traditions, and community can play a vital role in shaping attitudes toward parenthood and family.
