Business and Professional Programme

At the heart of the Hungarian Harmonies program unit lies the rich tradition and living artistic heritage of Hungarian music. The event aims to showcase several defining institutions of contemporary Hungarian musical life, which, by carrying forward the intellectual and professional legacy of Franz Liszt, Zoltán Kodály, and Béla Bartók, simultaneously preserve centuries-old Hungarian musical traditions while embracing innovative solutions that look towards the future. The interplay between tradition and innovation, the ongoing dialogue between the past and the present, ensures that Hungarian music remains a defining value for future generations.

The first presentation features the House of Music Hungary, an innovative music experience center engaged in concert organization, interactive exhibitions, and music pedagogy. In just three years of its existence, it has become internationally renowned, attracting millions of visitors. The building, designed by the world-famous Japanese architect Fujimoto Sou, harmoniously blends with the natural environment of the Budapest City Park. Its unique spatial design and the presented musical content are intricately intertwined, creating a special synergy between space and sound.
The program continues with a performance by the Quintessence Master School Ensemble. The Quintessence Master School offers a comprehensive music education program that focuses not only on the development of technical skills but also on the artistic expression and philosophical depths of performance art. The school’s unique teaching methodology prepares the next generation of artists to carry forward the values of classical and folk music.
Finally, one of Europe’s most prestigious institutions of higher music education, the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, along with the associated Kodály Institute, present their activities. Founded 150 years ago by Franz Liszt, the Liszt Academy still plays a central role in classical music education on an international level. The dual focus on preserving traditions while continuously renewing them has made the Academy a global hub of musical excellence. The accompanying Kodály Institute aims to continue the musical and pedagogical principles of Zoltán Kodály, attracting music educators and musicians from around the world with its exceptional training programs.
