The handover of the plot for the Hungarian Pavilion at the Osaka World Expo was followed by a ceremonial foundation stone laying this February, after the organizers officially handed over the area that will host the future pavilion to Expo 2025 Hungary Ltd.

On February 14, 2024, the organizers of the World Expo officially handed over the construction site for the Hungarian Pavilion at the 2025 Osaka World Expo. After the signing of the handover protocol, the Company transferred the plot to the main contractor and the Japanese construction partner, who simultaneously began their work on the site. On February 26, following local customs, the Japanese subcontractors conducted a Shinto ceremony at the Toyokuni Shrine in Osaka to ensure safe construction, followed by a ceremonial foundation stone laying. The event was attended by Ákos Kristó, Ministerial Commissioner responsible for promoting Hungary’s participation in the Osaka World Expo, and Anna Aulner-Bálint, Hungary’s Ambassador to Tokyo. Construction of the Hungarian Pavilion commenced in March 2024 and is progressing smoothly according to the original schedule.

The expos, held every five years, are among the world’s most significant tourism, economic, and cultural events. The purpose of world exhibitions is to provide a platform for future-shaping innovations, showcase the achievements of nations, and support the exchange of cultures as well as the strengthening of economic and diplomatic relations among participants.
