European and Japanese animation have never been more prominent globally. The past two Oscar winners for Best Animated Feature came from these regions. As both industries increasingly collaborate, they are leveraging their unique strengths to co-create and release world-beating films and series. In a rapidly evolving market, Europe-Japan cooperation stands as a vital avenue for sustained growth.

The EU is organizing a three-day animation workshop at the Osaka World Expo, bringing together 30 leading European and Japanese animation professionals to share experiences, deepen industry ties, and explore long-term collaboration opportunities between Europe and Japan. The final event of the workshop will take place at the Hungary Pavilion, focusing on the outcomes of the EU-Japan Animation Residency Program and the results from the three-day workshop at the Expo.
