Film screening and round table about female filmmakers in current and classic Hungarian cinema. The discussion gives an exciting insight into filmmakers’ creative mind.
Hungary Pavilion and National Film Instute Hungary is hosting a captivating talk show about the reception of movies directed by women in Hungary and Japan. The round table is featuring two female filmdirectors who are both part of the emerging Hungarian film community.
Linda Dombrovszky, film director. Her first feature film was shortlisted at Foreign Language Films of 78th Golden Globe Awards. She focuses in her documentaries and fiction films on the problems of aging societies.
Yvonne Kerekgyarto, screenwriter, film director. Her first feature film won the Gamechanger Award at SXSW. Her second feature film is a coming of age comedy which was popular among Hungarian audience.

Programme:
17:00 – 17:45 Screening of two short films by the speakers.
17:45 – 19:00 Round table discussion:
– Working methods of female directors.
– Reception of movies directed by female directors.
– Female filmmakers in classic Hungarian and Japanese cinema who can be good examples for current filmmakers: Márta Mészáros
– Difficulties of starting a career as a female filmmaker.
